Love God

Matthew 22:37 (NIV) – “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

1 Peter 2:2-3 (NIV) – “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that
the Lord is good.”

As believers in Christ, we have the potential to stir a desire for growth in others through their response to life’s challenges and their lifestyle that reflects Christ’s compassion and love. Scriptures like Matthew 22:37 emphasize the importance of loving God with all aspects of our being, while 1 Peter 2:2-3 underscores the role of the Word of God in fostering spiritual growth. Every part of our lives is called to love God. Love is the affection that brews intimacy with God (father, son, Holy Spirit). As we love, we begin to desire his word Loving God and immersing ourselves in His Word are foundational to inspiring growth in others. His words bring growth and spiritual development.

Love People

Matthew 22:39 (NIV) – “And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Psalm 119:165 (NIV) – “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.”

Empowering people to cultivate meaningful and healthy relationships is a challenging endeavor that requires effort and humility. Despite outward displays of spirituality, many struggle to exhibit kindness and love, contrasting with Jesus’ example of humility and grace. Offense and hurt often hinder our ability to maintain lasting relationships. Overcoming issues of superiority and offense is essential to fostering lasting relationships, mirroring Jesus’ offense-free life. The mission is not only to become more like Jesus but also to empower others to do the same, embracing love for oneself and others as commanded by Jesus in Matthew 22:39 and finding peace in the Word of God as expressed in Psalm 119:165. The Psalmist told us it is possible to live this life without offense and stumbling, if we love the Word of God.

Go Revolutionize

Matthew 28:19 (NIV) – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Hebrews 12:1 (MSG) – “Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.”

The “GO Revolutionize” component of our mission aims to equip members of Cornerstone to become caring leaders and pioneers who will initiate positive change in their communities and beyond. As leaders, we will demonstrate kindness, mercy, and compassion, leading from a place of love for Christ and His Kingdom. They will open new realms of potential and empowerment for others, revolutionizing every area they engage with, and every sphere entered. Through endeavors such as entrepreneurship, church planting, and involvement in various sectors like education and entertainment, Cornerstone aims to combat cultural darkness, breakthrough culture barriers, and elevate the quality of life for others. This focus is inspired by scriptures like Matthew 28:19, which calls for disciple-making, and Hebrews 12:1, urging us to follow the footsteps of pioneers and veterans in faith.
